Shadow Mirror is a magic object floating in space, making you wonder like a child how it is possible that the whole world can be inside a paper-thin surface.
What makes a mirror a mirror is not the glass or the frame, but the very thin layer of silvering behind the glass. Shadow Mirror is produced through a special technique when a surface of transparent glass is only partially covered by mirror coating of the highest quality. This allows the spectator to see both what is in front of the mirror and what is behind it.
The shape of the mirror area is hand-drawn emphasizing the unique character of the object.
Every day we spend so much of our time looking at a screen and yet the first screen that meets us in the morning is the good old-fashioned mirror. Shadow Mirror shows that in this digital day and age it is still possible to call for reflection using 500 years old technology. It is a gentle and beautiful reminder that small miracles can happen in real life.
